 I am an experienced, skilled, caring therapist who can help you to heal, and to create the life you've always dreamed of. I have been helping people to overcome difficulties from their pasts and create brighter futures for many years. I love to support others on their journeys of healing from their pasts, reaching their fullest potential, and creating their own perfect lives. My style is warm, caring, and supportive as I help you stretch to achieve your best!
I specialize in helping people to overcome the effects of trauma, including childhood trauma, such as abuse and neglect or growing up in a family with problems such as substance abuse, violence, and other problems. These issues can affect a person's self-esteem and ability to form healthy relationships, and can stand in the way of forming a positive and happy life.
I am a Certified E.M.D.R. Therapist and an E.M.D.R.I.A. Approved Consultant and have helped many people heal through E.M.D.R. treatment (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), among other treatments. E.M.D.R. is particularly helpful in overcoming the effects of trauma, both recent trauma and childhood trauma or chronic trauma. I have advanced training in child and adolescent psychotherapy and am skilled at treating children. I use EMDR with children very successfully, and children usually respond well and quickly to E.M.D.R. treatment.
I also help people to overcome performance anxieties, and to achieve peak performance in all areas of their lives. Peak performance work with E.M.D.R. has been very helpful in resolving issues such as fear of public speaking, creative blocks, stagefright, and confidence issues in performance in work and other roles. I also work with groups and companies who have been affected by crises or tragedies, and are in need of crisis counseling or debriefing.
My office is in midtown Manhattan, convenient to most subways and buses. I have been trained by the E.M.D.R. Institute, and am a graduate of the New Hope Guild Child and Adolescent Therapy Training Program.
